Can’t we all just not get along?
Meet JoshofDarkness. Metal’s answer to Rodney King has taken a break from updating his Facebook account to issue this urgent plea for solidarity within the metal community. Things we learned from watching this video:
1) Mushroomhead suck, but they’re not really metal.
2) Slipknot suck, but not nearly as much as Mushroomhead.
3) Trivium suck, possibly as much as Slipknot, but that’s ok “because they’re doing what they love to do and living their dream.”
Please note that while JoshofDarkness tells us that we should approve of any genre that “has ‘metal’ in it,” he frequently averts his gaze from the camera, avoids making direct statements and constantly refers to the “hatred passion” of his friends. Either JoshofDarkness is lying or he realizes early on (check out the agonizing pause at the 2:15 mark) that his position is indefensible. It’s ok to have opinions, dude!

This is why i don’t go to blabbermouth comment sections or anything, it’s full of people taking a shit on others who are sucessful and they feel resentment or jealous at their own failed attempt to make it. I miss the days of someone just going “nah, band’s not my style” and that’s it. now i have to look at laundry lists of “they’re gay” , “piece of shit” etc, etc,. Get a fucking life. Like the band give a shit anyway, for every person that don’t dig em’ there’s ten that do.

I agree that metal has become divided.
I was just at a show with Hate Eternal, Soilent Green, Skeletonwitch and Toxic Holocaust, and quite a few people sporting the 80’s resurgence look were there in force to support Toxic Holocaust and Skeletonwitch, but didn’t stick around for Soilent Green and Hate Eternal, although the very few with tight jeans swoopy hair did.
The best way I’ve found to lure people to the dark side is to never call any band bad, but to throw a little bit of charm their way and push something just a little bit heavier than the bands they typically listen to. Emo kids and nu-metal fans might not give up their what their doing, but at least they’ll give the working band a chance. Just ask Alex Webster about hooking metalcore fans up with Cannibal Corpse.

I don’t care about what anybody else likes. I’m glad most people don’t listen to real metal. I’m a greedy motherfucker, I’ll keep it all for myself.

He sounds like a douche.

Yeah, the swoopy hair kids are usually pretty tolerant of other metal, as long as it isn’t nu metal. Now if they could just stop writing songs that had a riddiculous amount of breakdowns…

notice how the computer camera is adjusted. i hypothize that he currently was under the influence of a catheter at the 2:15 mark. All those who have gone through surgery and were force to stay over night at the hospital know it takes longer to finish peeing with a catheter on, hince the long silence.
maybe the medical codeine was responsible for his be one speech of 2005 being back in tha day?

Ironically, doesn’t “Hatred Passion” sound like a Trivium song title?
May 9th, 2008 at 4:45 pm
Haha. In my town, it’s the idiots like that who keep trying to get me to put their shitty nu-metalcore bands on real metal shows to “celebrate the diversity of our scene”. Yeah, fuck that.

This dude is confused back in the day did not include slipknot or Trivium or internet forums for that matter. Back in the day included Tygers of Pan Tang, Iron Maiden with Dianno, Exciter, and Venom. Get it straight
