FINALLY! Another Slaughter of the Soul Reissue!
Before Earache’s planned 2009 reissue of Scum—which will allegedly contain a free 9lb. rainbow trout caught by Mick Harris—the label’s clearing the decks with just one more Slaughter of the Soul reissue in late March. Like the Olympics, a Slaughter of the Soul reissue only comes around once every couple of years, so you know the folks behind it will lure you in with shit almost as compelling as Ice Dancing. This time, however, it’s a little sweeter. Slaughter 4.0 contains a bonus DVD featuring a December 1995 live set in Krakow, Poland originally filmed for the same Metal Mania show that aired similar My Dying Bride and Anathema performances (which also became mid ’90s home videos). The reissue also includes six bonus songs (the reason you bought the 2002 reissue) and a 35-minute “The Making of Slaughter of the Soul” documentary (the reason you bought the 2006 reissue).
Watch At the Gates perform “Cold” from the Krakow set here:
